Sunday, May 12, 2-6PM Orrington Farmers’ Market at 19th Century Curran Village

This is only the second Sunday of the new Orrington Farmers’ Market at 19th Century Curran Village. Please be patient as it will take awhile for planned vendors to start making to the Orrington site. Vendors come from as far away as southern Maine sometimes. There aren’t any newly grown vegetables from Maine this time as year as this is early spring; vegetables will come in several months. The Market is scheduled until the second Sunday of October.

The Market is a separate entity and independent from the nonprofit museum known as 19th Century Curran Village. The Market is simply using the designated Museum property to provide a local farmers’ market. Because the Market is open it doesn’t mean that the Museum is also open. Please do not enter the museum grounds unless it is clearly stated that the Museum is open, and that there is Museum staff supervising and facilitating access to some or all of the buildings on  site. The Museum will state whether they are open on particular Sundays or not on their website (curranhomestead.org) and their Facebook page.

If you wish to be informed about events, open days, and programming at the Museum please sign up for online and occasional in-print and mailed information about it. We need your financial support as well. The Museum is not open as often as it would like to be due to a lack of volunteers who can assist with the operations of the Museum. The Museum seeks memberships and contributions in order to exist as it is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. This means that it is not owned by any private individuals. It is owned by a nonprofit corporation consisting of volunteer board members who do not benefit financially from their role as stewards of the Museum.
