Come out onto the frozen surface of Field’s Pond and see how large cakes of ice, once Maine’s second-largest export, were harvested to keep the world’s food supply fresh and cool!
We’ll be turning sap into maple syrup on the woodstove, and there will be Irish music and food in celebration of the Curran family’s Hibernian ancestry.
Girl Scouts: Consult your local troop leader for details.
We will gather to remember our neighbor and friend Linda, whose recollections enhanced our knowledge and understanding of the Curran siblings, and whose nearby Loon Hollow cottages gave so many the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Field’s Pond and its flora and fauna.
Our annual Summer Festival to culminate Orrington’s Old Home Week! Summer, sunshine, living history activities and fun at Field’s Pond.
